Enhancing brightness and reducing defects
Patterned sapphire substrate (PSS) processing involves creating a periodic cone pattern, approximately 2.5 μm in diameter, on sapphire substrates. This process reduces GaN crystal defects and enhances LED brightness by improving light extraction efficiency through internal reflections within the GaN layer.
