Samco is employing around 20 more people at its locations in North America, China, Taiwan and Singapore, as well as its subsidiary Samco-UCP in Liechtenstein, in order to better provide services and support to overseas customers.

“Increasing the number of Samco employees abroad is part of the company’s larger strategy to optimize our current sales structure while actively growing our customer base across the globe,” says Osamu Tsuji, Samco’s President, Chairman and CEO.

SAMCO held its first thin film technology workshop in India at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay on February 2nd. The event, entitled “MEMS and Nano Processes”, was a collaboration with Professor V. Ramgopal Rao of IIT Bombay’s Electrical Engineering Department.

Sweden-based SiC CVD developer and manufacturer Epiluvac AB has entered into a collaboration with SAMCO, a semiconductor process equipment developer and manufacturer based in Japan, in which Epiluvac will introduce new clients to SAMCO in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.

SAMCO has developed and launched a new Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) system focusing on gate oxide formation of Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN) power devices, which are key for energy-saving devices or “green electronics”.

On December 1, 2015, SAMCO Inc. signed an international distributor agreement with Epiluvac AB, a Swedish manufacturer of silicon carbide (SiC) CVD systems. The agreement terms grant SAMCO exclusive distribution rights in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines.

SAMCO is constantly on the move, and is proud to announce the relocation of its U.S. East Coast regional office. Due to a rise in customers in the Northeast, the current office in North Carolina has been moved to New York, and the new office is set to open on May 15, 2014. The relocation is aimed at enhancing SAMCO’s sales presence and service capability in the region.

On March 17, 2014, SAMCO Inc. signed a distributor agreement with Valence Process Equipment, Inc. (VPE), an American manufacturer of MOCVD (Metal Organic Chemical Vapor Deposition) process equipment. The agreement terms grant SAMCO exclusive distribution rights in Japan and unexclusive distribution rights in China, South Korea, and Europe. In addition to gaining market share within Japan, as a global enterprise SAMCO is expanding its sales of dry etching and plasma CVD systems in Europe and North America.

SAMCO Inc., a leading provider of plasma etching and CVD solutions to compound semiconductor device manufacturers, announced that SAMCO has made an agreement with Büchel Holding (“Büchel”) to purchase ninety (90) percent of the issued shares of UCP Processing Ltd (“UCP”), which is the wholly-owned subsidiary of Büchel. UCP, which is located in Liechtenstein, manufactures and sells precision plasma cleaning systems for semiconductor production.

SAMCO’s stock had been transferred from the Second Section to the First Section of Tokyo Stock Exchange market.

SAMCO is proud to announce the release of our newest deep silicon etching system — the RIE-800iPBC — for MEMS and TSV production processing. The RIE-800iPBC is the latest in SAMCO’s etching system lineup, and was officially introduced by SAMCO at SEMICON Japan 2013 (the world’s largest exhibition for semiconductor equipment and materials), held in Tokyo from December 4-6, 2013.
